Paper Predict vs previous year papers: why you need both — Paper Predict Notes

Previous year questions (PYQs) are the most trusted practice material for any exam. Paper Predict is built on them. So why use both?

Outline of Paper Predict vs previous year papers: why you need both
What this guide covers

What PYQs teach you

  • How each concept is usually framed.
  • The level of detail the exam expects.
  • Common traps and distractors.

What predictions add

PYQs look backwards. Paper Predict uses them, along with the syllabus and patterns, to look forwards: which concepts are most likely in the coming exam, with a probability score for each.

The best order

  1. Solve the chapter's PYQs first, to learn how it is tested.
  2. Then work through predicted questions in order of probability.
  3. Where a predicted question looks like a PYQ you got wrong, give it extra time.

A weekly routine

  • Two or three chapters per subject.
  • PYQs for each chapter, then predicted questions.
  • One mixed test at the end of the week.

In the final month

Revise PYQs you got wrong earlier, and go through all high-probability predicted questions at least twice.

The short version

PYQs show how you will be tested. Predicted questions show what is likely next. Solve PYQs first, then predicted questions in order of probability.
