How to analyse a NEET mock test properly — Paper Predict Notes

Many students take mock after mock and see their score stay flat. The difference between a mock that helps and one that does not is the analysis afterwards.

Outline of How to analyse a NEET mock test properly
What this guide covers

Step 1: look beyond the score

Note three numbers: total score, number of wrong answers, and time spent on each subject. Wrong answers matter most, because each costs you five marks compared with a correct one.

Step 2: classify every mistake

Put each wrong or skipped question into one group:

  • Concept gap: you did not know the idea.
  • Recall slip: you knew it but remembered wrongly.
  • Misread: you misunderstood the question.
  • Calculation error.
  • Time: you ran out of time or rushed.

Step 3: keep an error log

For each mistake, write the question, the correct answer, the group and one line on what to do differently. Review the log every few days.

Step 4: fix the cause

  • Concept gaps: re-read the topic in your notes.
  • Recall slips: add the fact to your must-remember list.
  • Misreads: slow down on statement-based questions.
  • Calculation errors: practise similar numericals.
  • Time: change your section order or skip earlier.

Step 5: re-attempt

After three days, re-attempt every question you got wrong without looking at solutions.

The short version

After every mock, classify each mistake, log it, fix the cause and re-attempt the questions after a few days. Analysis is where the marks come from.
