CUET UG is conducted by NTA for admission to central and many other universities. Domain-subject tests are where most of your marks come from, and they are built closely on the Class 12 syllabus.
This guide explains how to prepare for CUET UG domain subjects. Check the latest NTA information bulletin for subject lists, question counts, timing and marking.

How CUET works
You appear for a language test, domain subjects of your choice, and the general test if your course needs it. Each university decides which subjects and scores it considers for each course.
Choosing subjects
Check the requirements of the courses and universities you want before choosing. Pick domain subjects you studied in Class 12, since your board preparation carries over directly.
NCERT base
Domain questions draw heavily on Class 12 NCERT. Read the textbooks line by line, including tables, examples and summaries. Many questions test a single fact or concept from the text.
MCQ practice
Board preparation teaches you to write. CUET needs you to choose quickly and accurately. Convert your notes into one-liners and practise MCQs chapter-wise, including statement-based and match-the-following questions.
Revise this faster: CUET PCB Notes — handwritten, colour-coded notes with points often asked, PYQs and tricks in every chapter.
Timing
Take timed tests for each domain subject. Learn when to skip a question and come back. Accuracy matters as much as speed.
Final month
- One full mock per subject every few days.
- Error log for every wrong answer.
- Daily revision of one-liners and key facts.
- PYQs for each subject.
