CBSE Class 10 Social Science has an 80-mark paper and 20 internal marks across History, Geography, Political Science (Civics) and Economics. Many students find it the hardest subject to remember, simply because of the volume.
This guide covers how to revise each book, prepare map work and use memory tricks for SST. Check the latest CBSE syllabus for your year.

History
Nationalism in Europe, nationalism in India, the making of a global world, the age of industrialisation, and print culture. Learn each chapter as a story: causes, events, results. A single timeline per chapter keeps dates in order.
Geography
Resources and development, forest and wildlife, water resources, agriculture, minerals and energy, manufacturing industries, and lifelines of the national economy. Link each resource to where it is found and why. Tables comparing crops, soils or minerals help a lot.
Civics
Power sharing, federalism, gender, religion and caste, political parties, and outcomes of democracy. These chapters are concept-heavy. Learn definitions in NCERT words and one example for each.
Economics
Development, sectors of the Indian economy, money and credit, and globalisation. Learn terms like GDP, per capita income, formal and informal credit, and the effects of globalisation with examples.
Revise this faster: Class 10 CBSE Social Science Notes — handwritten, colour-coded notes with points often asked, PYQs and tricks in every chapter.
Map work
Practise every item on the CBSE map list for History and Geography on blank maps, such as Congress sessions and satyagraha sites, dams, major crops, minerals, ports and airports. Two or three practice rounds in the final month are enough for most students.
Memory tricks
- Story chains: connect events with "because" and "so".
- Tables: compare similar items side by side.
- Acronyms and Hinglish hooks: for lists such as features or causes.
- Revision cards: one card per chapter with key terms, dates and examples.
- Recall, then check: write what you remember before rereading.
